CONTRAILS
Avionic are a collective who have been writing songs together for some time. The rise of digital recording and on-line distribution are a motivating factor for the collective deciding to put their music out in the world at large.
With collective influences from all forms of music Avionic have taken a garage approach to putting their music together with a view to getting small amounts of new material out more regularly. The collective’s interest in film and television dictates that video will become a significant facet of the work.

AVIONIC RELEASE E.P. “7”!
“We’ll be moving back to the future now…….”
The four tracks on the country/folk E.P. have been available for quite some time but now the compilation “7” is released.
Avionic have experienced delays like everyone else but, finally, got the outtake from the country/folk project “Wrong Side of History”, ready for the E.P. as an exclusive bonus track for the release. “Wrong Side” won’t be available for individual sale.
Avionic are now looking to new tech and new sounds for whatever comes next but say the occasional drift into country and folk is always possible in the future.
E.P. “7” is available to stream and download from the usual portals as are all Avionic products.

AVIONIC RELEASE “RUM JUNGLE”……
“Given the circumstances it’s hard to be excited, but music is what we do…”
Before social isolation became the thing for everyone Avionic managed to get together in The Hangar and put the final tracks down for “Rum Jungle”. With no idea when they will be able to get together again “Rum Jungle” has been mixed and is now released.
Currently Avionic are looking at ways to keep the music coming from isolation using the internet but that will take time. “Rum Jungle” is to appear on the next E.P. “7” when Avionic can get around to recording a special bonus track for that release.
For the moment “Rum Jungle” is available to stream and download from the usual portals as is all Avionic product.

Now the warm glow of involvement in San Francisco’s The Residents “I Am a Resident” project has drifted on Avionic have been busy digging into their folk roots as they have a few tunes that they feel will fit a country/folk groove. Navigating off in this direction brings guitars back into the Avionic flight plan.

“That's the last electronica for a while……...”
Avionic are back in The Hangar at work, just releasing the Cajun-flavoured dance stomper "Is x ∞ (+ 1 You Win)" before making a bit of a change in their musical flight plan again. This last electronica track completes the soon to be released E.P. "6".
As for what's happening next? As far as we have been told Avionic will be picking up guitars again…. anything's possible!

THE RESIDENTS: AVIONIC CONTRIBUTE TO FAN CD PROJECT! (PART 2): AVIONIC APPEAR ON THE VINYL RELEASE!
As previously reported Avionic participated in The Residents "I Am a Resident" fan project. The Residents have announced a general release of their mash-up CD of all 197 project submissions on Cherry Red Records which includes a second CD of highlights from various contributors and is available here:

THE RESIDENTS: AVIONIC CONTRIBUTE TO FAN CD PROJECT!
The Residents, San Francisco's long-standing giants of the avant-garde (or something!), put together a fan cover version project of their music late 2017; the "I Am a Resident" project.
Avionic, being long-standing admirers of all things Residential were keen to contribute and submitted their cover version of "On the Way (to Oklahoma)"; first appearing on The Residents' "Animal Lover" album.
The Residents, amazed at receiving 197 great submissions and being masters of the mash-up, decided to mash the whole lot into one CD and Avionic are stoked to be part of the project. As far as we know the release is yet not on sale to the public (participant Pledges only) but the full-length versions of all these mind-blowing submissions can still be heard on The Residents' website:

AVIONIC RELEASE "SILVER DREAMER"!
“We're just down the call channel……...”
Things have been a bit quiet on the Avionic flight line of late but there has been plenty happening in the background with some "special projects" for other bands while they worked on their own next release. That release is here and it's "Silver Dreamer"! Avionic are interested in putting found voice tracks into their music when they feel like it. Not to rest on that eccentricity Avionic have built the track "Silver Dreamer" entirely around a found section of some strange short wave transmission that was picked up quite a while ago.
"Silver Dreamer" is the third track for the forthcoming compilation E.P. "6" with one more track to come and the band are in The Hangar putting that together right now.

AVIONIC RELEASE “HOT COLOUR”!
“We took a bit of time on the cosmic merry-go-round over this one!”
Avionic release "Hot Colour", the second track from their latest batch of electronica. As the band has stated; it took a bit of time. Not wanting to let a song fly out of The Hangar before they could get it just the way they wanted it, the end product is now ready for the world's ears.
The more psychedelic and cosmic side of the band can be hear on the "Eat Your Fingers Off" instrumental/experimental E.P. available as a download at Bandcamp.
While Avionic move onto their next electronica track "Holding Pattern", the remix and remaster album of earlier music, is also out there on Bandcamp. The band tells us that guitars will be coming back; sooner or later………

AVIONIC RELEASE “HOLDING PATTERN LP”!
“We decided to put some finishing touches on the finishing touches”.
Avionic release a collection of past guitar and drums work remixed/remastered and, in the case of “Jacknife”, rerecorded in its entirety. The single from the collection will be a revamped “Meantime” that revisits Avionic’s rock.
The Bandcamp exclusive release features all artwork, bonus lyric sheet and mp4 file of the “Vertigo” video featuring the original “Vertigo” soundtrack.

AVIONIC RELEASE “Bathyscaphe Mythology”!
“We just write short stories……….”.

Things have been dark on the Avionic radar while the collective moved to a new hangar but, now that the gear is down and the equipment unloaded, (now with ReverbNation!) they want to start up operations with a small celebration.

After the release of their first e.p. "1" Avionic are now working song by song. The potential to put small amounts of material onto the internet quickly seems like the right plan at the moment.
“M for Murder” is now up on our internet pages. This is the first of a number of songs that Avionic have spinning up at the moment and getting ready to roll out of the Hangar.

BACK IN THE HANGAR
It has been quiet since the release of the first EP. Various members of Avionic were either overseas, or elsewhere in Australasia doing other stuff. Now that everybody is back in town Avionic is back in the hanger working on the second EP. In the meantime the band is into getting videos done.

AVIONIC RELEASE FIRST E.P. “1” AND FAREWELLS NEIL ARMSTRONG
Avionic should be happy to wheel their first E.P. “1” out of the hangar today. It’s an unhappy co-incidence that the lead track, VERTIGO, contains the lyric: “Who in heaven follows Armstrong then” when the release date comes on the day that Neil Armstrong passes away.
Farewell Neil Armstrong……. Avionic says thanks for the memories.

Avionic are now live on Triple J Unearthed.
We are still here. Some of us are doing the final mixes for the first e.p. while others of us are charging around the country doing other stuff. There is also a video for the already released instrumental Eternal Motors that is being finished for our Youtube channel.

Just to let you know what's happening:
We are currently working on the 4 track e.p. and have finished the backing tracks so it's on to the vocals. In the meantime we have decided to release and instrumental. Unlike the e.p., which we hope to have a physical release of, this instrumental will be an internet only event. We should be finished post any time now and hope to be streaming it soon.
Eternal Motors: A short instrumental that we put together in 2010. This is probably not very much like anything else we do because we usually do songs; not instrumentals.... but there it is. We have started to look at what video images we will be needing for both the e.p. and Eternal Motors.

We've been doing some work.........
.........on logos, trademarks and label artwork for the upcoming EP. These logos now appear on our Soundcloud, Soundclick and Youtube pages.

Just to let you know what's going on. Avionic are doing then following:
Recording and EP's worth of tunes. We aren't doing this full-time so we make use of what time we've got. It's great to be revisiting some older tunes. In the process we came across a second take of one of the songs so it's taken a little longer........
Apart from that we are looking at artwork and other media for the EP.
